Golden Delicious Apples

Apple Cider

1/2 cup (packed down)

 

 

Cornstarch

Pre-made Pie crust

2 crusts

 

 

 

 

 

PLAN:
At Home:

1. Peel, Core and cut apples into 3/4 inch slices.  Then cut slices in half. 

2 hours before dessert:
1.  Mix together apples, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and apple cider (except for 1/4 cup of the 2/3rds).
2.  Boil stirring often until sugar is dissolved and apples are coated.
3.  Mix in cornstarch and remaining 1/4 cup apple cider.
4.  Boil stirring often until liquid is thick and clear.
5.  Cover 9" pie pan with one pre-made pie crust.  Fill with apples and cover with second pie crust
6.  Pinch two crusts together and cut away excess crust.

1 - 1 1/2 hours before dessert:
1.  Cut three vents in top crusts.
2.  Bake in Preheated Dutch Oven for 1 - 1 1/2 hours
