Duty Roster

A duty roster is a very important item to have and use on a campout or backpacking trip.  The duty roster is what lets everyone know what their responsibilities are.  It is  the Leadership Corps responsibility to make the Program plan and guide the Patrols so that they can adhere to their duty rosters.  Several things can effect the patrol duty roster: weather, scouts arrive and leaving at different times, travel distance to the campsite, hiking distance to the campsite, and if you are cooking on wood, propane, or white gas (peak 1 stoves).

The key things to keep in mind for when making your duty roster are: to divide the work evenly and fairly, keep in mind the skill level of the scout in your patrol, and how much time you need to set aside for troop program.

What to think about when making your duty roster.

The following links give you some examples of some duty roster's.  These are somewhat fancy but all you really need is a listing of times by the half hour or hour and when each duty or event should happen and who is doing it. These examples are ideal.  Exact times are almost never followed.  Time should be kept close to the program plan for the campout as possible.  Remember, everyone works, everyone plays and that you do all of it as a patrol.
