Alternate Leadership Requirements

 

The following may be used in place of a leadership position for Star or Life: (not both)


All the following must be completed to serve as an alternative for a leadership requirement.

1. Attend a monthly Troop Leaders' Council meeting. Participate in discussions. (Do not vote) Help your patrol leader relay information back to the patrol.

2. Using appropriate teaching aids, teach a skill to one or two Scouts during the advancement segment of 8 troop meetings.

3. Develop a plan for a troop skill demonstration. Review your plan with the Senior Patrol Leader and an adult leader. Using appropriate teaching aids, present the subject to the troop.

4. Help plan a patrol meeting at a troop meeting or elsewhere. Have the plan approved by your patrol leader and patrol coach. Help your patrol leader lead the meeting.

5. Attend at least 75% of all troop outdoor activities.

6. Lead a song at a troop meeting or campfire.

7. Make your patrol equipment list for a campout.

8. Make a shopping list for a campout and buy the food. Pack the food properly for camping.
